It's been a minute since I've loved a DC song, but this new album with "We Fight", "Belong" and this jam are so good and pretty similar to the old DC sound I love.

Sorry I'm not sorry for more Bleachers on the blog.

Jams of the Week 4/23/17

Hola and welcome to jams of the week!

I was pretty into "Radio" By Sylvan Esso and then my bff Beth made me listen to "H.S.K.T" and it was an instant earworm. I think it's on a commercial right now?

Do you have any of those songs that make you cry when you listen to them no matter what? "Ends of the Earth" does that to me. I;m 99% sure it's because it was used in the finale of Community, but its also just a beautiful song. They have a new album which you should listen to, but I'm posting Ends because it's my favorite.

There's something timeless about "Don't Take the Money." I feel like it has a 80's feel to it but if it came out anytime since then it would still be awesome. Shoutout to Lorde for the help and cameo.

"You steal the air out of my lungs, you make me feel it..."

Jams of the Weekend - 10-25-15

Hola amigos. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend full of pumpkin spice everything and making the most of a packer free Sunday.

It's kind of that fall time of the year where I feel anxious about all my decisions and the upcoming holidays, but I also feel weirdly calm because of how beautiful fall in Wisco is. Today's songs are a little more mellow and slow, but I love love them all the same. First is Julien Baker with "Something". Her repetition of something, anything, and anyone made me feel all the feels. Sometimes I get stuck on an idea of who someone is and fixate a little, I've been trying to get better and music helps.

Julien Baker - Something
"I can't think of anyone, anyone else/
I won't think of anyone else"

Wake Me - Bleachers

"Right from the start I knew/
You'd set a fire in me/
and I'd rather be sad with you/
Than anywhere away from you"

and last but not least on this train to soul town

Leave Your Lover - Sam Smith

"What use is money, when you need someone to hold?"

Until next week,
Maggie
